Neither your modem, nor your copy of BSware is Y2K compliant.
Buy a new CD, a new computer and a new modem.

While the above lie may sell more CD's for KLUG, it's NOT TRUE!  :{)

Did you change anything else in the BIOS, like LBA settings?
If not, then you may have some hardware problems.   :(

After you get the machine booted, as root run the command "lilo"
and see if that fixes your boot from hard drive problem.
