do i have a good title for this? no not really... how about "odd SCSI"

so here goes... my parents got an external Cd-Rom drive for their Mac cause
the old one blew up... well this was more a gift from a relative (the
cd-rom) anyhow it's got the mac drivers, looks like an apple product, and
here it is: expecting to see the 25-pin SCSi that the scanner and Zip plug
in via i'm confused when i look and sure enough the actual plug and
corresponding cable are different... i suppose if you are a SCSI buff then
you know what i'm gonna say... it looks like a Centronics plug (much like
the one on my parrallel port printer) and so now i'm a little bit confused
as to how to go about hooking it up...

***disclaimer*** if the world does indeed blow up, like the media seems to
want to get me to believe, then i really no longer care about the problem at
hand, if it doesn't blow up then i'd really like some help here...

thanks, you guys are always soo helpful...
