I think you're going to run into problems since the modules on the CD
won't match the kernel version.
If it were me, I'd do the install on a PC with a SCSI controller that's
supported (or install a temporary SCSI card that is supported). Get it
installed and upgrade to the newest kernel and compile in SCSI support
for the SCSI card that wasn't supported until 2.2.10. Then plug the
HDD into that controller.
