This is really good stuff. Just FYI to anyone who uses it, but zlib
patches are available that incorporate compression into VNC, making it
MUCH faster over remote connections. I connect to the Internet from
home with a 56k modem, then VPN into the office with has a T1, and am
able to run StarOffice via VNC and it is quite usable (It can keep up
with my typing). Also the iXvnc patches let you run VNC via Inetd so
a VNC session is created every time you point your viewer at it which
is a very nice way of providing Linux hosted apps to a whole variety
of platforms (Linux, Win9x, etc...) It seems faster than networked-X
and uses less bandwidth.
