Hello Robert,

My name is Kofi, I live in the Detroit area and I just joined your mailing 
list yesterday. I was looking for a LUG in the Detroit area but could'nt 
find one so I subscribed to yours. By fate or whatever, just before I opened 
this email I was searching for Linux certification programs. I was only able 
to find one at www.lpi.org. I am a "newbie" but I am very enthusiastic about 
mastering Linux, this OS is very empowering. I had been contemplating 
getting my MCSE for the last six months or so but the combination of M$ 
pricing and my uncertainty about M$ in general has kept me from enrolling. 
So I would be more than grateful for any information you could provide me as 
to which direction to go in. I'v only been using Linux for about a month but 
I'm already pretty efficient a navigating the directories and what not from 
the command line. I'm 28 and would like to continue my education, and I 
definitely need mentors on the subject. I am also interested in getting some 
kind of LUG organized in Detroit if there is'nt already. Please send me any 
and all pertinent info, it will be greatly appreciated and I look forward to 
your correspondence.
