I have a IBM ServerRaid system, it is very nice and supported by recent 2.2.x
kernels.  Although I bought this in an IBM system it didn't add that much the
the price (~$400),  I don't know what they cost independently.

I've heard nice things about Mylex (formerly BusLogics) RAID cards, but
I've never used one.
