Sure, I do VPN.  What kind of VPN do you want?  There is both IPSec 
and PPTP software.  Lots of people do PPP of SSH.  The kernel supports 
IP-over-IP and Cisco's tunnelling protocol.  It matters most what your 
clients or servers want you to use.
