HA System Setup on linux

I would like to get the discussion started regarding
connecting together a few systems as a cluster.
What is the scope of what we would want to accomplish?
Bob mentioned the possibility that funding of some type
may be required to set up any serious system for a 
period of time. Raj, Richard and I discussed the 
possibility of something relatively simple, a couple of
machines together performing web services.  Maybe we 
just get it going long enough to unplug one and watch the 
other take over.  If so could we do this within the
time period of a single meeting, or should we get it
working outside the context of a meeting and then 
display it to the group?

I have a system which I would not mind using
for this purpose.  I could also get my hands on a
couple of NIC cards to make a heartbeat 
connection.  Has anyone done any looking for
open source cluster software to get working?  I believe
Turbolinux will let you set up a system for a 30 
day trial.

Does anyone have any ideas/comments?
