Re: HA System Setup on linux
That is an encouraging news from TurboLinux. Please let me know if you've
any PDF's for the TurboCluster. Let us start doing some prep. work now so
that we can build a true heterogeneous cluster. Should we start lining up
the hardware? Thanks.

I have been thinking about availability, because it relates to the
meeting which Raj described the setup at Kelloggs he was involved with.
Before I got a response from Bob saying we already had a Turbocluster
disc, I left a note on Turbolinux's Web site. Here is the response I got.
He called me to. Sounds relatively enthusiastic. I replied to it with our
website.
Here it is:
Dirk-
I'm having corporate send out to you an eval of our unlimited-node
TurboCluster Server product. I believe it has a 90 day window.
I don't know if we have corresponded before, but I am the local TurboLinux
Account Manager based in Cleveland, OH. I cover Ohio, Michigan, Indiana,
and W. PA. I plan on heading out to your area within the next couple of
weeks. The nice thing about our ClusterServer product, is that it will
cluster any Unix, Windows NT, Solaris, and Linux boxes together behind a
virtual IP giving someone a true high-availability solution over a
heterogeneous environment. May I ask why are you setting up a cluster to
demo?
I would be extremely interested in meeting with anyone in your area to talk
about our products and/or to develop a partnership with our company.
TurboLinux is a very different kind of Linux company in that we focus almost
exclusively on the back-end server market and clustering solutions for the
enterprise.
I look forward to meeting your LUG and feel free to contact me anytime.

We had a gentleman discuss a High
Availability HP-UX cluster for Kellogg
company which he was involved in.
Our group is interested in using
Linux to cluster 2 or possibly
more (4) of our personal computers
for the sole purpose
of a demo. Would it be possible to get a
demo 30 day version of the Turbolinux
Cluster server for this purpose.
Regards,
Dirk Bartley
