beware the IDE cd-rom drive of march...
Hey all,
As far as linux is concerned, I am a pre-newbie, meaning that I don't
even have it installed on ANY computer yet. But I'm working on it. And
that's what this is all about...
I've got an old pentium 90 system that i'm trying to install linux on
right now, and everything is working great except for the fact that I
have no working cd-rom drive for that computer. I need an IDE cd-rom
drive. So... my questions are:
1. Does anyone have a cheap IDE cd-rom drive they can sell me?
-OR-
2. Does anyone know where I can get one?
-OR-
3. Can anyone think of a logical reason (or maybe illogical, since we're
dealing with parents...) that my dad should upgrade from his current 16x
to a faster cd-rom drive, such that I can have his old 16x?
Thanks.
