III. PRESENTATION RECAP
TONIGHT'S KLUG PRESENTATION:
*****************************************************
- Introduction to Linux
by Robert G. Brown
AN OVERVIEW OF BASIC LINUX OPERATIONS WAS PRESENTED.
Bob showed us the things that new Linux users need to
know for basic operations after the installation of
their choice of distributions. This presentation
offers everyone a starting place with Linux. The
origins of Linux and the spirit of the GPL were
described. Remember to install ALL available docs
and 'man' pages. You'll be glad you did!
TWO LINUX INSTALLATIONS were in process during the meeting.
One was a laptop and the other a desktop. Andy Edison,
now a former installmaster, assisted with the tasks along
with Richard Zimmerman and Bruce Smith.
THE BEGINNER'S MEETING is the first Tuesday of each month.
Linux basics and distribution installs are the lessons of
these evenings. If you do want KLUG's FREE help installing
Linux on your computer at one of these meetings, see URL:
