As long as you can run a cable between the two computers,
you can network them.

You will need a NIC (network card) for each machine,
prefered 10 or 100 BaseT (twisted pair cable), and
a hub to plug both machines into.  Or, with only 2
machines, you can get a cross-over cable (or adapter)
and plug them directly together without a hub.
