Depends on the price.  Adequate 10MB network cards are worth $10.  Cable
is also pretty cheap.  If you like you can have some of my Cat5 (I have
about 1000ft).  A 5 port hub is about $30.  As usual, you can always
spend more and get better.

So, if the kit is much more than $50 it's not really worth it.
