my printing died...

Well, up until now I was rather proud that I was successfully able to
configure my printer and all that myself.  Everything worked
beautifully, at least as far as one-sized one-font printing can be.  But
now, it has died.  I can still print test pages from the redhat printer
setup program, but i cannot print anything either via drag'n'drop with
the icon or selecting print from within the program.  At first i thought
it might be a permissions issue, but not even root can print.  Any ideas
as to what the problem might be?
