Don't remember the kernel version for this one, please do a "uname -a"

What is the "init" string used by Windows?  Is it the same as on the 
Linux side?

This may introduce variables I don't know about.

Makes me think kernel 2.2.5 or a bad init string.

Have you set "debug" so you can actually see what the errors are?  Do 
you have "crtscts" set in your options file?
