Netscape and Wheel Mouse

On the klug server are app-default files for using a wheel mouse with 
netscape.  I have a couple users who went out and purchased their own 
mice/keyboards (not unusual here) and wonder if I can "activate" their 
wheel mice.  If I put the wheel-mouse app-default file in and a user 
uses the station with a non-wheel mouse will it have any negative 
effect?  I make a great effort to keep all stations identical.
