Laptop purchase

Yes I know, everyone asks this, but I went looking on the internet and
haven't been able to find anyone out there that is actually
recommending what laptop to purchase if one wants linux on it.  I'm in
the market to buy one QUICK, so I'm wondering if anyone has any
suggetions.  I want to stay around the $2100 level, and I want
something light, besides that, I really don't care.  I've been to the
Laptop howto site, which is helpful, but doesn't give any specific
recommendations.  I was going to go with a VIAO, but of course they're
backlogged, and I'm looking to get one this weekend.  Any ideas?
