If you destroyed you root user your in for real fun. You need to enter "single" at
the lilo
prompt when you turn the machine on, then it will boot straight to a root shell
(no login
prompt), and you can add user root back in. Then reboot again. Single user mode
is
for just situations like this. But of course without having the root password you
can't
shut the machine down properly. Just type "sync"<ENTER> several time on a virtual
console, wait a minute, and push the button, then pray.
