Re: Quick question (Successful Install)

Thank you.  I believe i spoke too soon though.  I should have read the file on the disk.  (reading is good). On another note.  I did get RedHat 6.1 installed!! on the first try!! This is a new record for me!! It usually takes about 4 or 5 tries for anything!!

Thank you all,

If you have access to a Windows computer, look on your RedHat CD under the directory called "images"  .You need to write the boot.img image to a floppy using a program (also on the cd, called \dosutils\rawwrite.exe).  There's a file in the dosutils directory that will tell you exactly how to use the rawrite program.

The README file on the root of the CD was an awesome help to me when I first installed Linux.  If you haven't already, you may want to take a look at that.

I have a quick question for all of u out there.
I want to put Red Hat on an old compaq system.  And the cd-rom drive is not bootable.  Where on the redhat disk do i find a program so i can make a boot disk, and what do i do?  Thanks in advance.
