You are 100% correct Adam. Thank you for replying to this for me.
I'm well aware that Rick has special circumstances, and at the risk
of sounding like a hard ass, I'm still going to stick with my policy.
I've had people beg me to ship, I've had people offer to send SASE's,
I've had people get pissed and flame me for not shipping, but I've
always stuck with the policy and NEVER shipped a CD order for KLUG.
I'm afraid that if I start making exceptions that it will snowball
and I'll be shipping every week.
My reasons are simple. I don't have have easy access to a postal
service to make shipments. I do not have easy access to my bank,
without taking time off work, to cash checks (I work in Three Rivers,
but my home and bank is in Kazoo). Plus, I don't have time!
I do not feel guilty for not shipping special case orders because
there are places on the net that sell Linux cheap CD's, take credit
cards online and*SHIP the CD's. See linuxmall.com, cheapbytes.com,
and many more! I'm not the only game around! I do this ONLY as a
special service to people who attend KLUG meetings.
Rick also has another option where at least two people on this list
have offered to buy the CD(s) at a meeting and deliver or ship them
to him.
If Rick makes arrangements with someone, and that someone lets me
know what CD(s) to bring to the meeting, I'll gladly do that.
Thank you for your understanding.
