ncftp question.

While downloading large files from updates.redhat.com I noticed
something very strange.

If I'm using my favorite text based ftp client, "ncftp", I get about
35-40 kB/sec for each file. If I switch to a different FTP client
(netscape and "gftp" tested), I get about 150+ kB/sec for the same
files. This is very consistent. I tried it multiple times, and
have noticed it consistently over time.

To complicate it even more, ncftp works fine from some Redhat update
*MIRROR* sites, running at a much faster speed than Redhat direct.

I tried "set passive on" in ncftp since netscape and gftp seem
to do PASV transfers by default. No difference.

It seems like ncftp and redhat.com do not get along.
Any idea what is causing this?
