WindowsXX emulating window manager
At Tuesday's KLUG meeting, I asked about how best to configure a LINUX
machine be familiar for a W95/98 user and received two window manager
recommendations: qvwm and icewm.
I got both and have tried them. Qvwm must be configurable in some way but
the documentation was sketchy at best, as those who installed in on the
Boogie stations must know but I gave up after a bit of poking around.
Icewm is neat. While it took me a while to adjust from xfce, my previous
favorite wm, the documentation in icewm is reasonable and it does at this
point have for me a Windows 95 feel. Each user can modify it to suite
their tastes. I have entered both new wms in my .xwmmrc so I have an
even larger spread of window manager choices when bringin up X11.
Thanks for the suggestions, especially to Adam for the ice recommendation.
