Just lucky I guess.  You could of course both report the bug AND start
over.  I've done two quite complicated server box upgrades from 6.x and
have had GREAT success with both.  Since OS upgrades require downtime
(something 2.4 might resolve) it's nice to do hardware upgrades at the
same time and I've done three complicated installs where I just
started from scratch.  All have been marevelously successful and much
easier than any RH/Linux installation in the past.  In light of all that
I'd be very interested myself in the "bug".  Do you mean not a single
package in the entire system upgraded or not a single X related package
(this bieng an X related thread)?
