Question about Apache server

Could someone help me. 

   I would like to take on a little project for my church. 
They would like to have a web site and email capability. I told them that I would take this project and help them. 
The church does not have a lot of money for systems of for Micro$oft products. I am use to using IIS and NT 4.0 and 2000 Server for setting up web sites. I also use front page to manage the site. 

this is what I am looking for. 
1. Can I use Apache for a simple web server?
2. Can Web site on Apache be managed by Front page or something similar?
3. Has anyone used Comanche?  I have a copy but can not seem to get it working correctly. 
4. What would be the best software to manage Samba, Apache, and email?

If anyone has this experience, I would like to talk to you on the phone. 
I would really appreciated it.
