Re: Question about Apache server

Ok Ok Ok,

I understand that phone conversation will not be available (at least for those that have responded) I was looking for someone that lived close to Sturgis that I could talk to.
I need step by step setup to get this project going. If I can not talk to someone, I will simply just email my questions to the list.
For those that have answered than you.
This is my backgroung.

I work for Albion College and started supporting our NT4.0 domains with NT 4.0 server and IIS systems. My boss (loves Mircrosoft) has converted this college to a MS campus. We are now running Office 2000 on all campus computers along with Win 2000 Pro. I am use to using FP because that is what we use here at work. I would like to learn another editer however, I can keep up with the stuff my boss gives me now.
I want to learn more about Apache and Linux because you can get them free off the Internet and I believe that Linux will be a major competitor in the OS field. (some believe that it is already)
I like using GUI interfaces because I dont know a lot about Linux or code. I need to keep things fairly simple with the work load that I have.

Now with the church, I can only get one IP for their systems that I would like to setup for them. I will use Apache to run the Web pages but I will need to add some more hosts to it. I have Webin running and that helps with user acconts and basic configuration on the sytem. I am use to using IIS to create and manage web sites, I need something simple like that to get going.

I have downloaded the new Webmin and will install that
I downloaded the new Apache 1.3.14 and will install that
I will also reload the new Comanche program.

When I get this all done, I will need some help getting this running. I will send to the list questions. Hopefull you guys can help me.
Now, that I have completed my Bachelors in Info Sys Tech I can start attending the KLUG meetings.
