RH 7.0 failed install - what next?

Hi, All,

I have had a copy of RH 7.0 from Bruce for some time but have not been
able to load it because of it complained of my having a dirty filesystem.
After floudering around unsuccessfully with minimizing the # of
filesystems in fstab, I finally noticed a suggestion during boot of 6.2
that I use e2fsck to check my filesystems. Well, sure enough I got an
error message on a paratition other than my boot partition (what would I
have done had the problem been the boot partition?) and e2fsck cleaned it
up and I could boot 7.0!! After a few hours installing 7.0, which went
smoothly, I tried to boot up the new system but got MANY error messages
including messages that several of the files the boot wanted to access
being read-only and several attempts to perform an operation for which my
166MHz system was too slow to handle, it stopped at an INIT.... line.

I have NO idea what to do. Having a dual boot system, I am able to send
this message from the dos partition (on my old, smaller hard disk) but
have no way to change permissions, etc. on the ext2 partitions.

I have great faith that I am not the first person in KLUG to have this
experience and that someone will pull me back into the LINUX world from
this netterm in MSdom.

Looking forward to hearing from that person(s),

	Best, Ralph M. Deal deal@kzoo.edu
