Meeting 11-14-2000 - Multiple Monitors Using XFree86

The XFree86 Project produces an open source implementation of the X
Window System that runs on Linux and UNIX-like operating systems. An
X-server is the underlying software that allows communication between
the hardware and the graphical user interface. The latest major upgrade
to Xfree86 is version 4, which includes support for multiple monitors.
Tonight's presentation will be a demonstration of a system with working
multiple monitors and an explanation of how to proceed with configuring
the x-server for multiple head support.

Dirk graduated in 1991 from Western Michigan University with a degree in
Electrical Engineering. He is currently employed as a Systems
Administrator at Schupan Aluminum Sales. There he administers the
corporate network using a system running Red Hat Linux. In his spare
time Dirk enjoys playing hockey, taking his dog a walk, using Linux and
learning about how software can be used to benefit people.
