Actually I was told the ATM modem was a compatibility nightmare, not just
for we Linux types.
As far as the prior question regarding the advantages of PPPoE over ATM I
haven't the foggiest. I'm told the reason they use PPPoE is to retain a
"dialup feel" for people which I don't quite get.
I have PPPoE set up to logon during bootup so when I'm going between my
Windows gaming sessions and my Linux work sessions it automatically logs me
on and sets up the firewall......now if Windows could just do the same
thing!! :)
