IP forwarding.....I got it

I figured it out....

Instead of changing the value of ip_forward from 0 to 1 with the command: 
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

I opened the file ip_forward form a 0 to 1 and saved the file.

Much to my surprise, this worked.

I am typing this on my other linux box!!!

I can even ping web sites with this computer!!!

(ok most of you think I am getting excited over nothing) this is a big deal 
to me.
