Prior to running Helix-Gnome, I had the resource
XScreenSaver*programs:
set in ~/.Xdefaults to control the screen saver program(s).
I left it there, and it seems to carry over to Helix-Gnome fine.
I've never tried controlling it within the Helix settings, so
I can't answer your question directly, but this may be a work
around if you can't make it work inside of Gnome.
