I use squid at work, T1, 100-200 users on a P2-400, 192MB.
Upgrading to the P2-400 from a dual (SMP) PPro-200 made surfing
noticeably faster.

I also run it at home for 2 users on my P2-450 256MB, dialup 26.6K
(is also my personal workstation running a lot of other stuff).

Plus on my laptop P2-266, dialup / T1, where there are no other clients.
It makes Netscape a lot more stable running squid for localhost only!!!

I recommend adding memory.

Please note there is a squid presentation at KLUG on Jan 30.
