As the new Program Director....

As the new Program Director for KLUG I'd like to thank all the people you have
presented material in the past, or facilitated presentations in any way.  I've
learned quite alot over the past couple of years,  and even heard presentations
on topics I didn't even know we're topics.

I would like to hear from people about any areas of intrest they would like to
see discussed or presented at a KLUG meeeting.  Now topic should be considered
to novice or advanced; KLUG's memberships spans the gammit of experience and
background from gamers to administrators to developers.

I've gathered from the Boogies Project, the mailling list, and conversation a
small list of topics that might make good presentations.  If one of these
happens to be your area of expertise, or something you would like to explore,
let me know.

1. Printing Issues
    Using Inkjet printers with Linux (PPA, STC, etc....)
    The new print system in RH7: LPRng
    Printer Accounting
    
2. User Applications
    Web Browsers:  Opera, Mozilla, Galeon, Netscape 4 & 6
    Free Office Suites: Star Office, Abi, Siag, KOffice
    
3. Misc
    Using Linux in a Novell Network
    Linux and USB
    What's new with 2.4.x

Of course this is only a brief list of ideas,  if you have any you might like to
present, or even one you'd like to hear/see then please feel free to let me
know.

One idea that I have is for thematic months,  there various presentations on a
single general topic such as printing could be presented.  Another is for
"shorts" where a couple people each give an 10~15 minute demonstration or talk
instead of one more significant presentation.  Comments these or other ideas are
welcome.

Our currently scheduled list of speakers ends in a few weeks, so don't hesitate!
