Ironically, when I read this morning about your April 9 exper-
ience with being "hacked" at home, I also had just received an
e-mail notice from
that I had won a copy of a newish book, Secrets and Lies:
Digital Security in a Networked World.
No doubt seeking some response from those receiving its
daily e-mails [as in: we write this stuff; does anybody read
it], SearchSecurity.com recently offered copies of the book
to the first 100 respondents.
While I haven't been victimized yet, one of my "legal eagle"
acquaintances recently sent me an e-mail with an "Anna"
(posingly pretty, but not a tennis player) attachment. I de-
leted the e-mail, without opening the attachment but have
not bothered yet to ask the "eagle" whether he had been
"hit" and "his" e-mail was an automatic pass-on or...
