No.

I've done four upgrades and a couple installs from scratch.
I booted from CD on ALL of these.

I had trouble on a newer IBM intellistation.  It booted from CD
fine, but the install locked up in the first couple screens of
the install.  I was only playing with it, so I didn't pursue
the problem.

I remember reading something about 2.4 kernels not working
correctly on Netfinity's.  Seems like that was discussed on
the GRLUG list awhile back.  I don't remember the details.
