Just to avoid confustion ('cause LDAP is confusing), the umich LDAP
implementation is not very actively maintained at this point. This site is a
good reference for LDAP information, but you need to make sure whether your
getting v2 or v3 information.

This project is derived from the umich implementation and for v2 (1.x of
OpenLDAP) you can use the umich documentation almost to the letter. For v3 (2.x
of OpenLDAP) you need to use the documentation at the OpenLDAP site.
