I did decided to put off using reiserfs. I'll wait until there is a XFS cd available. (hint hint - nudge nudge)

I also decided that there wasn't enough time to day to try messing with the alsa-project drivers. My specific card isn't listed so I'll wait to try the drivers for my brand till another day.

I did get the pilot link going. I had to 777 ttyS0 and slow down the asking speed to 57600. Works like a charm.
