I think it is a good thing, given historical context. He did come out of the closet as a galeon booster.

According to this and several other sources 2.4.4 has some problems with stability and performance. I'm sticking with 2.4.3 until 2.4.5 comes out (2.4.3 seems to have problems with my Future Domain SCSI controller).
