Hello, there. One last problem to hurdle before wiping Novell from the old
server and installing Linux.
As some of you may have heard, CARES had a program installed called
DonorPerfect for Windows, which tracked charitable donors--needless to say,
this is important data for an NPO. Of course, this did not stop CARES from
having up to FOUR incompatible/out-of-date copies of this data on several
computers. The only one that both worked AND is up-to-date is no more; I
believe that the structure F:\DPW\DPW was not an installer goof but in fact
two separate copies of DPW, one on top of another. Only one got copied in
the recent move. (Wonder why?)
ARCserve was, apparently, not backing up the server before it broke. It was
only backing up the two workstations. One did have a copy of DPW
(apparently), but how do I get it off ARCserve now? The PC is no longer
hooked up to IPX and Novell? Do I have to reinstall Novell client on the one
machine? Is there another way to peel that directory off the ARCserve tape?
Thanks in advance.
