Right, i just cannot log into KDE.. i did "locate kde" and i found a
whole lot of files most in the /root/.kde/ dir.. but nothing in the
/usr/bin/kde ( i should point out, that the dir, or file is not even
there) and when i edited the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file and changed it
to KDE, it still loaded up gnome. (i couldnt figure out how to kill -9
gdm, init 3 and 5, so i just restarted, i figured that would do it
too..)

Sounds like something windows would do?

Where is this located at?
And for means to save space, i still am unable to find that <> diamond
you speak of- the only thing i see next to help is a start, and that
just starts the web browser..
