I just switched /etc/sysconfig/desktop from "GNOME" to "KDE" and had
0 issues.  I didn't even need to "init 3 && init 5 &" either.  A
simple Ctrl-Alt-Backspace had "prefdm" re-read what should be used
(after a few X self-restarts).

Again, KDE/kdm came up fine for me.

P.S.  Since running "gmc" withOUT the "--nodesktop" option, it now
comes up with the desktop icons by default.  Arrggghhh!!!!
