I am able to login and get KDE just fine.

When you say "I cannot access KDE", do you mean you do not have the
option of KDE from your login? It seems Ximian has removed the KDE
option. But KDE _should_ still launch if your user's Xsession/xwmrc
settings are set.

Or you are expecting to get the kdm (KDE Display Manager) instead of
the gdm (Gnome Display Manager)
which is the login prompt? If that is the case, edit (RedHat)
/etc/sysconfig/desktop and change "GNOME" to "KDE".

I know kdm takes issues with Gnome users, but I've never seen gdm
take issue with KDE users.
