The Dimension comes with the nVidia GeForce2 MX.  That card isn't
supported until XFree86 4.0.2 (RedHat 7.1).  Consider upgrading
(which is always a good move when the release is just a revision
upgrade (e.g., X.0 to X.1 or X.2, or X.1 to X.2).

Better yet, get better OpenGL acceleration with the proprietary
nVidia drivers here:
