Dear Netscape Enterprise Customer:
As you may have heard, Netscape made an announcement that will offer
more choice and freedom in Internet software. Effective immediately,
the Netscape Navigator and Communicator Standard Edition Internet
clients are available free of charge.
In addition, Netscape announced that it is making the source code for the
upcoming Communicator 5.0 available for free on the Internet, enabling
organizations of all kinds to create customized and enhanced versions
of the browser. The beta source code will be available for download
on our web site by the end of March 1998.
Because we recognize that this news may affect you, we have developed
an Investment Protection Program to recognize your current investment in
Netscape products. Enterprise customers who have purchased
Communicator or Navigator or who have current subscriptions for these
products will be given special pricing on new Netscape Enterprise solutions.
A brief overview of these products can be viewed at:
http://home.netscape.com/corpsubscriber/ .
This special value program for existing customers is available through
June 30, 1998. Customers who take advantage of this program before
March 31, 1998 will get an additional 20% discount.
To take advantage of these limited-time upgrade opportunities and
special pricing, please contact your Netscape Sales Representative or
a Netscape Authorized Reseller.
Now, more than ever, we are focused on serving the needs of Enterprise
customers by continuing to provide high return-on-investment solutions for
the enterprise. We are confident that our decision to make the world's
most popular browsers free will further enable Enterprise customers to
build applications, which increase their bottom line and their topline results,
and to deliver these applications even more easily to their employees,
customers and partners.
We appreciate your continued support of Netscape products and look
forward to working with you in 1998.
