Idea For Group Project.

I not sure exaclty how legal this would be, but this idea came to me over
the recent discussion of the realaudio NPR story about linux. Its just
something to kick around for awhile

ANYWAY, Im thinking that we should look into finding out how the RA
protocol works, and write a little client which lets you save the sample
to a file. I dont think this would be too hard (then again, what do i know
:) to do using some kind of packet sniffer.

After that, im sure we have the programming skills to get a client
running. Sockets under unix (or any OS) is one of the areas where i have
never done anything, (i do know a far amount of C and other things,
but ive never done any sockets programming) and i would like to learn how
they work.

failing using it as a group project, would anyone want to point me to some
place where i can get information on how to use sockets in linux?
