run linux from a Zip drive ?

I would like to set up a Linux system where the user boots from a
floppy,
then mounts (automatically) Linux on a Zip drive and auto-runs a custom
database type app.
Some requirements are..

	- the users are in general, non-techies so this would have
to be a completely turn-key operation which would leave the
	users HD untouched.

	- have Xwin pre-configed for generic VGA & maybe SVGA to
allow the app. to run in a GUI setting using maybe TCL/TK.

	- fit everything on a 100mb Zip disk leaving room for
approx. 5-10 mb of data files and/or the option to expand
	data storage to additional disks.

Is this do-able ?
