questions
i know this really doesn't have alot to do with linux, but does anyone
happen to know of a site on the internet that sells Digital alpha
motherboards? i found a few places that sell complete systems, but i'd
rather do it all myself and maybe save a few hundred dollars.
I tried http://www.digital.com, waited a few days until they registered my
account, and it turns out they don't seem to have anything in stock.
has anyone heard anything about the devlopment of an Xserver that supports
the rendition chipsets in xfree86? i've heard rendition was planning on
releasing the source, or maybe they did already. unfortunatly with my
Stealth II i can only get up to 640x480 and 16 colors in xfree86, even with
accelX. I was going to go ahead and buy a new card, but i figure i'd wait
awhile, i did buy a cheap cirrus logic 1mb card, but i really don't like it
use it since it only goes up to 1024x768 at 256 colors.
another thing i need to get one of these days in a new soundcard, probably
an awe64, since that's supported in linux, right now i have a sound16a,
actually it's a sound washington 16, i've pretty much tried everything to
get it to work in linux, even tried oss. all i get is static. oh well,
anyone have any ideas? maybe the correct configuration for when i'm compiing
my kernel, i just use the default settings of 220, 5, 1.
btw why isn't klug listed at xfree86.org for linux users groups? just
curious.
