diamond makes the worst video drivers? and why is that? just because your
roomate had problems doesn't mean every single diamond card/driver is that
way. i have a Stealth II and i've never had any sort of problem at all. and
just because i use diamond drivers doesn't mean my system is any less
stable.

the only complaint i have is, well get this, i have a cirrus logic 1mb card,
it goes up to 1024x768 and 256 colors, i put in the Stealth II, only goes up
to 800x600 and 32 bit color. wtf.
i emailed diamond, even call the technical support line, couldn't fix it, if
i had my receipt i would have taken it back but i sent it to bestbuy for a
mail in rebate. it's probably my monitor because i have the old one i used
in my 486, it's a 15" with a 13" viewable area.

oh yeah, about the diamond cards, the stealth II doesn't work in Xfree86, at
all, that's why i bought the cirrus logic card. pretty soon, i'll buy a new
matrox millenium II, since it's supported and hopefully it'll go up to
1024x768 on my monitor.

heh, check the gazette, my video card is in there for sale, heh. nobody will
buy it but it's worth a try, i was going to only put it in there for $50 but
i said what the heck and put a $75 price tage on it, and yeah yeah i know
you might even be able to get an oem version cheaper..maybe. i paid $119 for
it, comes with box and everything, only like 4 months old.

i'm getting the millenium II because i plan on getting a new monitor soon
and they're down to $107 for the oem version, or i might just wait for the
millenium g200 pci version. supposed to be pretty good and cheap.

i bought the stealth II because i was building a new system at the time, and
i needed a decent 2d card that could also play d3d/opengl games at a decent
speed. for games i don't see why anyone would buy an ATI card. and last i
heard there was no OpenGl driver for the ATI cards, giving you about .1fps
in glquake, heh. of course for 2d and everything else, they might be pretty
good, actually one of my friends said it's probably his favorite card, i
just wouldn't buy one myself, kind of like how some people would never buy
any sort of matrox card.

heh just go into #3dfx on efnet, it's funny, they say a certain 3d card
sucks, just because it doesn't give you so many frames per second in a
certain game, heh, of course these are the same people saying a k6 233 is
total crap.
