RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE) via
NewsEdge Corporation -- June 1, 1998--Ganymede Software
today announced a new pricing strategy that makes its Network
Performance Endpoint (NPE) software available free of charge.
The endpoints are the software agents that allow users to test
and monitor network performance.

Most network performance tools support only a few platforms
(Windows NT or Window 95) and one network protocol.
Ganymede Software is the only vendor that supports fifteen of
the most common platforms -- from Windows 3.1 to MVS.
Ganymede has simplified the rollout of its endpoints for all
customers. Now, enterprise customers with multiple platforms in
their networks can deploy Ganymede technology everywhere, and
networking vendors can easily test their products with multiple
platforms.

Ganymede's strategy is to provide the NPE software for all major
client and server operating systems and then integrate the
technology into devices in the middle of the network. "In March,
Ganymede announced that we had licensed our NPE code to
Cisco Systems for use with IOS. This has proven that our
strategy is both viable and valuable," said Tim Huntley, President
of Ganymede. "We are currently discussing similar integration
opportunities with other major networking vendors."

The NPEs are the software agents, currently available on fifteen
platforms, which allow users to run network performance tests
from the Chariot(R) console or to monitor network performance
from the Pegasus(R) server. Chariot set the standard by which
major corporations and test labs measure the performance of
networks and networking products.

Chariot was the first tool to provide a single metric for measuring
end-to-end response time, thereby playing a key role in moving
the industry away from measuring network performance in terms
of frames per second. Ganymede built upon this successful
technology with Pegasus, its newly announced product. Pegasus
provides historical tracking and alerting for network response
time and connectivity, which gives a unique end-to-end view of
network performance that can be incorporated into day-to-day
network operations.

"Network performance testing and validation are critical elements
of client services at Black & Veatch. No network that we deal
with has only one protocol or operating system. Ganymede's
support of fifteen platforms and five protocols was a key to our
selection. Now, with free endpoints, we can make use of Chariot
with even more customers," said Seth Waites, Black & Veatch,
Overland Park, Kansas.

Network Performance Endpoint code is currently available on the
following platforms: Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT
(Alpha and Intel), OS/2, NetWare, AIX, Digital UNIX, SCO
UnixWare, SGI IRIX, HP-UX, Linux, Sun Solaris, Solaris x86,
and MVS. These NPEs may be shared by multiple Chariot
consoles, Pegasus servers or any combination. Ganymede
Software will continue to add platforms as the marketplace
demands.

Network Performance Endpoints will be available to be
downloaded from the Ganymede Software web site at:
http://www.GanymedeSoftware.com/downloadendpoint.htm. The
installation codes for the software will automatically be mailed to
all existing customers.
