Usenet server/cache

To anyone tempted in the UseNet world by Bobs Usenet+experience session at the
last meeting,  I had it all up and running within about half and hour of
finding all the parts.  nntpcached seems to work without much effort than
giving it a bunch of news servers to run off to and find stuff. newshound is a
little bit more of a contraption.  I can't find how you enter a list of
newsgroups to "suck",  it seems to only want to build it automatically into
/var/spool/news/hound.list.  If I edit that file manually the next run core
dumps.  Anyone know how to make an entry in that file.
