NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR 4.5 - ANNOUNCED BUT NOT RELEASED

Netscape recently announced Netscape Communicator 4.5, the latest
addition to the Netscape Communicator family. Although widely
anticipated, a preview release of the new product will not be
available until July.

New in 4.5, Netscape has introduced "Smart Browsing", a
technology that improves the way users access and locate
information on the web. In examining 4.5 and the Smart Browsing
technology, we believe the following to be the key new features:

   * INTERNET KEYWORDS - Enables users to type keywords directly
     into a browser location bar, rather than a separate search
     box, bypassing a step in the search process. An example
     might be that entering "Southwest Airlines" will bring up
     the correct URL for Southwest Airlines , though it is not
     necessarily what the user might have expected.

New in 4.5, Netscape has introduced "Smart Browsing", a

     click the "What's Related" button and it bring up such sites
     as Mercedes and Porsche).

   * SUPPORT FOR IMAP - Permits the server to be utilized for
     actions traditionally reserved for the user's computer such
     as storage and management of email.

   * SUPPORT FOR LDAP - Allows users to look for names in a
     corporate directory and obtain further information such as a
     job title or description if more than one name appears.

   * ROAMING ACCESS - Access communicator anytime, anyplace -- at
     home or office, on your laptop or palmpilot.
